What Makes a Great Brand?

Keynote Lecture & Presentation

That’s the million dollar question, isn’t it? Of course, it’s no simple answer. A quick glance at the timeline on this video will tell you it takes us damn near an hour to explain.

And explain, we do. In this presentation given to nearly 200 live subscribers to the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, my partner Stan and I take a deep dive into both sides of a developed brand’s brain.

Like we’d do on any brand development project with a client, Stan and I divide and conquer. I lead the way on establishing a verbal identity, then Stan takes the fully thought out brand and crafts a compelling visual identity and logo design system.

For the first half, I hone in on the key characteristics of the quality brands we love today and present textbook definitions and examples of core brand elements like brand pillars, mission statements, and vision statements.

This presentation has also been given to the Western Fairs Association at their 2023 Annual Convention, and the Reno Tahoe American Marketing Association.
